Our affiliation

Trinity Church in Goderich is a denominational member of the
Christian Reformed Church of North America (CRCNA).

Our View of God

We believe God is sovereign, that he rules over all creation through the Lord Jesus Christ, and that His authority cover all areas of life.

Our View of Sin

We believe in the destructive consequences of sin on human nature as seen throughout the world.

Our View of Grace

We believe that God graciously forgives us our sin through Jesus' death and resurrection; this is a free gift to us - not because we deserve or earn it, but because of His love.

Our View of the Covenant

We believe that the believers' relationship with God is a covenant relationship, with promises and obligations that he extends from believers to their children.

Our View of Creation

We believe that our world belongs to God and that as His partners we are called to serve Him in all areas of life, revealing the good news of His love.

The Christian Reformed faith

As a Christian Reformed Church we believe in the historic Christian message taught throughout the Bible and confessed throughout history using the following Christian Creeds:

The Apostles' Creed

The Nicene Creed

The Athanasian Creed

The Christian Reformed Church traces its roots back to the protestant reformation movements led by Martin Luther and, later, John Calvin. Confessions of faith were written to articulate the faith of the protestants. In our tradition, there are three primary confessions that are accepted by many in the 'reformed branch' of the Christian family tree:

Heidleberg Catechism

The Belgic Confession

The Canons of Dort

The Denominational Structure

Congregations (our local church):

Trinity is governed by an elected council of Elders and Deacons. The Pastor serves alongside the Council and together they provide leadership and oversee ministries of Trinity for the purpose of advancing the Kingdom of God.

Classis:

This is a regional gathering of churches that work together in ministry and for support. Trinity belongs to Classis Huron.

Synod:

Synod is a yearly gather of church representatives, delegated from each Classis, to oversee the denominational ministries and maintain the vision and direction of denomination.
